Morning yoga at Mandrem.
image1 / 3A single long day that moves from a morning yoga class on the Mandrem coast, into an afternoon of clay work with a local potter, and ends with the sunset at Terekol — the long, quiet river-mouth beach on Goa's northern edge. The yoga class is a beginner-friendly 90-minute session at a working studio; the pottery is hand-throwing and shaping (you'll make and glaze one piece that gets fired and shipped to you, or that you pick up); the Terekol visit is timed to the evening light, with a brief stop at the Terekol Fort if you want one.
Goa's north coast is where yoga and craft traditions still pass between teachers and students in working studios rather than in resort settings. Spending a real day — class, wheel, beach — with practitioners gives a feel for the rhythm of practice here that a holiday package can't.
Mandrem and Arambol have been hubs of yoga and clay-craft on Goa's northern coast since the 1970s, with a long lineage of local potters working in the traditional Goan red-clay idiom and an international yoga community that settled here in the same period. Terekol (Terekhol) beach sits at the mouth of the Terekhol river on the Maharashtra-Goa border and is the location of the Terekol Fort, originally built by the Bijapur Sultanate and later captured by the Portuguese.

I have never done yoga — is the class suitable?
Yes. The class is a beginner-friendly asana and pranayama session, with modifications for different bodies. Tell the teacher at the start if you have any injuries.
When will my pottery piece be ready?
Pieces need at least a week of drying before firing, then a second firing. You can either pick up your piece from the studio later in your trip or arrange shipment (paid separately) to your address.
Can I skip the Terekol sunset and end earlier?
Yes — just tell the coordinator in the morning. The day ends wherever you prefer.
Not a sight to see — a practice to enter.
