Weaving of Eri silk, known locally as Ryndia, especially in Ri-Bhoi district.
Understand
Ryndia weaving is practised by Khasi women in Ri-Bhoi, using Eri silk, which can be produced without killing the silkworm.
Women spin the silk by hand, dye it with natural colours, and weave it on traditional looms into shawls and fabric.
