The Puducherry Yakshagana is the regional dance-drama of the small Tulu-speaking community of Puducherry, performed by men of the community at the cultural programmes of the union territory. The dance is the regional adaptation of the Tulu Nadu Yakshagana (the Tulu-language dance-drama of coastal Karnataka) and forms part of the cultural diversity of the union territory. The form is regularly performed at the cultural programmes of Puducherry and at the regional Tulu community festivals.
The Puducherry Yakshagana is performed by men of the Tulu community at the central courtyard of the cultural programme. The men wear the elaborate head-dress of the Yakshagana characters and the colourful costume. The dance is the classical Yakshagana vocabulary. Music is the maddale and the cenda of the Tulu ensemble. Costume is the colourful Yakshagana costume. Performances are at the central courtyard and at the cultural programmes of the union territory.
