Drodi is the men's social folk-dance of the Sirmaur and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh, performed at the marriage cycle of the regional communities with the small steps and the clapping rhythm of the Pahari dance vocabulary. The dance is one of the defining social-dance forms of the Sirmaur-Bilaspur region and is performed at the marriage eve and the marriage day. Drodi is closely related to the Nati (the state-dance) and to the other Pahari men's social dances of Himachal Pradesh.
Drodi is performed by men of the Sirmaur-Bilaspur community in a circle at the courtyard of the host's home at the marriage. The men dance in small coordinated steps and clap in time to the song of the Drodi cycle. The dance is gentle, with the small clapping and the small steps of the Pahari tradition. Music is the dhol, the small shehnai and the brass cymbals of the regional ensemble. Costume is the regional dress — the dhoti and the kurta with the Pahari cap. Performances are at the marriage cycle and at the cultural programmes of the state.
