Jharkhand's Sohrai and Khovar mural traditions are painted directly onto mud house walls using natural pigments and combs, timed to harvest and marriage seasons — the paintings are seasonal, meant to be redone, not preserved behind glass.
Chhau here is danced with masks carved in Seraikella villages, martial in its footwork and drawn from the same warrior culture that produced Paika, a stick-and-shield practice still taught as both art and self-defence.
