Nagaland's Hornbill Festival gathers all of the state's tribes — Ao, Angami, Sumi, Konyak and more — into one shared calendar week, but each tribe's own festival (Moatsu, Sekrenyi, Aoling, Tuluni) still runs on its own separate date through the year.

Naga shawls are woven with patterns that once signalled a wearer's clan, status and achievements, a textile language that loin-loom weavers still read and use today.
