West India
Where Portuguese colonial streets sit beside Adivasi forest villages.
This merged union territory holds two very different worlds — Daman and Diu's Portuguese-era churches, forts and street layouts, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli's Adivasi Warli and Kokna communities living largely by forest and farm tradition.
Warli painting, with its geometric white-on-mud figures of farming, dance and daily life, is the region's best-known craft and is still taught inside the villages that produce it, not just sold outside them.
